Install the PFD at the front desk and have your receptionist scan patient Xray films into your imaging software as they arrive for treatment. Using this method you will gradually digitize all your existing film based Xrays. The PDF also allows the dentist to view film based Xrays on any networked PC in the practice and facilitates simple comparisons between old Xrays and new digital sensor images.

Using the PFD on a PC without imaging software

The PFD Scanner can be used on any PC with a USB2 interface. The capture software and drivers are provided with the unit and allow the operator to save images in any location on the hard drive or over a network. When used without a dental imaging package, the location and name of the stored images needs to be selected manually.

Using the PFD with Imaging Software such as DentalEye

The PFD unit will work seamlessly with most dental imaging packages such as DentalEye through the Twain interface software provided. Once installed, the Twain interface is activated from within the software package and captured images will be automatically stored in the correct patient file with a single mouse click.
